There has never a single person to be indifferent to "The Product" David Starr since his birth on February 19, 1991 in Philadelphia, PA. In 1996, David's life changed when him and his step father watched Wrestlemania 12, headlined by the famous Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels Ironman Match. Although he came from a prestigious jewelry family, from that moment forward, professional wrestling was the only option for Starr.
Being the physical embodiment of charisma, Starr excelled on his youth wrestling team all the way through his collegiate wrestling years as a team captain and eventually qualifying for the collegiate national wrestling tournament in his sophomore year at 157 lbs. David's passion and commitment to the sport of wrestling is inked on his body forever with a tattoo of an adaption of the USA Wrestling logo on his right thigh.
With his amateur wrestling days coming to a close, The Product struggled with what to do with his life. He was going to college for mathematics, had the urge to teach and coach, but something felt unfilled. His love for professional wrestling was still very present. Following hearing the famous "Pipebomb Promo" by CM Punk, even though many people told him that he could never live out his dream, he decided to send out numerous emails to wrestling schools in Pennsylvania. The first reply was from the legendary 3x WWF Tag Team Champion Headshrinker Samu Anoa'i, head trainer at the world famous Wild Samoan Training Center in Allentown.
Under the tutelage of Samu, and former WWE wrestler Tommy Suede, David would go on to become the fastest graduate in the history of the WSTC program. Graduates include Batista, Kanyon, Billy Kidman, Gene Snitsky, and many more professional wrestling superstars.
Upon graduation, Starr made his pro debut on the night before his 21st birthday February 18, 2012 for World Xtreme Wrestling C4 in Allentown, PA. From there, the KoT's career would take off traveling throughout the United States and all over the world (including Australia, Canada, and Mexico) honing his skills and later becoming nominated for Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Rookie of the Year award.
After meeting one of his best friends, Shane Strickland, on a road trip to Michigan, David began training at the Combat Zone Wrestling Academy under CZW owner DJ Hyde, and international wrestling stars Drew Gulak and MASADA.
David went from training at the CZW Academy to debuting for the prestigious independent company at Tangled Web 6 August 10, 2013 against someone he'd become very familiar with in "The Juice" JT Dunn. The match with JT at one of CZW's premier events was one that set the pace for Starr's career. It was the jumpstart of the tag team that was, as they would say, "Over As F*ck" The Juicy Product.
JT & David would excel at a very quick rate, becoming champions for various companies up & down the east coast. Including becoming only the second team in wrestling history to ever hold the CZW & Full Impact Pro Tag Team Championship simultaneously (The Briscoe Brothers). They would especially make their mark as a team at a company in New England called Beyond Wrestling in a feud with the best tag team in the world, The Young Bucks. Within the Combat Zone, Juicy Product would enter a blood feud with The Beaver Boys & Ohio is 4 Killers, culminating in a Triangle Ladder Match in the main event of the Chris Cash Memorial Show "Down with the Sickness". The Juicy Product appeared poised to be one of the best teams for years to come, however after personal differences plagued the tandem, Pro Wrestling's Savior & The King of Taunts split. This split would not be pretty setting off what has been considered one of the best independent feuds in recent memory.
JT Dunn vs David Starr became a headline match that was must see. Having taken the feud from territory to territory, the duo proved to be even better enemies than they were a team.
David began to make a name for himself in the singles realm of sports entertainment. Starr had many high profile singles matches against Billy Gunn, EC3, Johnny Gargano, Eddie Edwards, Sami Callihan, Donovan Dijak, Cedric Alexander, Shane Strickland and many more well known wrestling stars. However, a match at Rockstar Pro in Dayton, Ohio with a very familiar foe made the most noise in the wrestling world, even adding a nickname to David's already extensive list.
On November 6, 2015 David Starr and OI4K's Dave Crist made modern wrestling history when they grappled for an incredible 1 hour 44 minutes & 32 seconds in a 1 fall match up. Thus, the 104 Minute Man was born.
To start 2016, David took part in Ring of Honor's annual Top Prospect Tournament, a tournament that showcases some of the world's best up & coming wrestlers, followed by his first ever European tour. The tour, through Westside Xtreme Wrestling, took the 104 Minute Man to Germany & the UK including participating in the prestigious 16 Carat Gold tournament and tagging with "The King of Swerve" Shane Strickland as a part of JML.
Upon returning, Starr made waves in CZW when he made it to the finals of the 2016 Best of the Best tournament going through Dave Crist, Dezmond Xaiver, and Shane Strickland before facing Jonathan Gresham in what has been considered by many to be a "match of the year candidate."
There are big things on the horizon for The King of Taunts. And if you can't see that, take a step back and....LOOK AT IT!
